Rishi is an seasoned tech executive and investor. With over 15 years of experience in strategy, operations and finance, he was most recently the SVP of Strategy and Operations at Legion, an AI/ML powered HR tech company, where he helped launch a new product line, and raise $80M in capital across multiple rounds of funding.
Prior to Legion, Rishi served as the VP of Business Operations at Poynt, a hardware and software company building a commerce and payments platform, acquired by GoDaddy for $365M in 2021. Rishi joined as the company’s first non-technical hire and helped scale the company’s business to serve over 130,000 merchants globally, and raise $150M in follow-on capital. He joined Poynt from Matrix Partners, an early stage-venture firm where he sourced the firm’s seed investment in Canva, most recently valued at $40B. Prior to Matrix, Rishi was an investor at Scale Venture Partners.
He began his career at Merrill Lynch in the Financial Institutions group. Rishi graduated with honors from




Arpan joins Garuda from Okta where he was most recently the Director of Corporate Development. He joined the enterprise software giant as an early employee in 2013, and helped the company grow from early stage through its IPO in 2017 and life as a public company since then. He was a founding member of all key inorganic growth functions - M&A, Okta Ventures, and strategic partnerships - and helped grow the business from ~$25M in revenue to $1B+ and into a multi-product enterprise. He has executed all of the company's M&A transactions to date, amounting to $6.5B+ across Security, Developer Tools, DevOps, and IT Workflows. He has also been an active angel and fund investor since 2014, and was the first investor in Garuda Ventures I based on a decade long friendship with Rishi.
Prior to working as a tech executive, Arpan practiced as a corporate lawyer and as an equity research associate covering the technology sector at Bloomberg LP and Credit Suisse.
He holds a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of Pennsylvania, and a J.D. from Cardozo Law School where he was Senior Editor of the Cardozo Law Review, and is a CFA Charterholder. Arpan lives in Burlingame, CA with his wife Aneesha and two kids.



James is a seasoned entrepreneur and startup advisor in Silicon Valley. He is the co-founder and CEO of Evergrow, the world’s first dedicated carbon project finance company. James was previously the founder & CEO of Teleborder, an HR SaaS company for international workers. At Teleborder, James raised $3.5MM from top tier venture capitalists including Khosla Ventures and Y Combinator and later sold the company to TriNet, a publicly traded multi-billion dollar HR company.
At TriNet, James served as Executive Director of Corporate Development, where he led strategic partnerships, special projects, and had P&L responsibility for its Canadian & International business lines.
James began his career as a corporate lawyer with Davis Polk. In 2015, he was named to the Forbes 30 under 30. James obtained a Juris Doctor from Columbia Law School and passed the NY Bar at age 20.
James lives with his wife Nancy and dog Alfie in San Francisco, CA.
